Open Day 21.12.2025

On December 21, 2025, Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics opened its doors to future students. The university atmosphere came alive thanks to interactive exhibits, direct dialogue with faculty representatives, and the opportunity to explore the foundations of modern IT and engineering professions.

The event was attended by Prof. Svitlana Chumachenko, Head of the Design Automation Department; Assoc. Prof. Inna Filippenko; postgraduate student Valentyn Korniienko; and assistant Ivan Khakhanov.

How it was:

“Live” demonstrations. Prospective students saw firsthand how real microcontrollers are programmed, how 3D models of complex devices operate, and how digital “twins” of radio-electronic systems are created.

Career navigation. Guests learned that Design Automation Department graduates are architects of the digital world who design the “brains” of modern computers, smartphones, and industrial systems.

Communication with future leaders. School students and their parents had a unique opportunity to talk with department lecturers who directly manage innovative projects and understand what knowledge the IT market will need tomorrow.

Future profession: from idea to implementation. Within the framework of the event, prospective students not only became acquainted with the university but also took their first steps into the professional environment. This contributes to the global goal SDG 8 “Decent Work and Economic Growth”, opening pathways to quality employment and sustainable development for young people.

Education oriented toward the future. Familiarization with educational programs that integrate green technologies, energy-efficiency principles, and responsible software development clearly demonstrated the university’s contribution to shaping a new innovative economy. This work is a practical embodiment of SDG 9 “Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure.”

Investment in the sustainable development of the city. Systematic training of highly qualified IT specialists and engineers directly contributes to SDG 11 “Sustainable Cities and Communities.” Skilled graduates become a key resource for developing modern infrastructure, innovative industrialization, and creating an environment in Kharkiv where young people can fully realize their intellectual potential.

The event clearly demonstrated that studying at the Design Automation Department is a path from abstract knowledge to concrete engineering solutions that drive technological progress. It is a choice for those who want to understand the language of hardware and software in order to build the future today.
