Design Automation Department Students Participate in Smart Industry Hackathon: Automation & Power Solutions
From April 1 to 8, 2026, the Smart Industry Hackathon: Automation & Power Solutions took place, organized by the “Career Center” of NURE in collaboration with the international engineering company S-Engineering. The event was dedicated to creating engineering solutions in the fields of automation, power supply, technological safety, and infocommunications.
The hackathon was held in two rounds. The first round took place in an online format from April 1 to 2, and the second round was held on April 8 in person. Participants worked in teams on real cases closely related to modern industrial challenges.
The Design Automation Department was represented by 4th-year students of the 1st bachelor’s level, Sviatoslav Pavliuk and Anatolii Bui (group КІУКІ-22-7), whose team competed under the name “AПOT-1.” The team was prepared by Inna Filippenko, Candidate of Technical Sciences and Associate Professor of the Design Automation Department.
During the hackathon, the students demonstrated a high level of training in the fields of programming, automation, and digital control systems. Participants gained practical experience working on engineering cases, received mentoring support from specialists of the partner company, and were able to add real projects to their portfolios.
The participation of students in the hackathon contributes to the achievement of SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure). Involving young people in developing solutions for automation, energy efficiency, and production digitalization builds human potential for a sustainable innovative infrastructure. Furthermore, the event supports SDG 4 (Quality Education) by providing students with opportunities to acquire practical skills and competencies necessary for successful professional activity in a digital economy.
The Design Automation Department congratulates Sviatoslav and Anatolii, as well as their supervisor Inna Viktorivna, on their worthy performance and thanks the organizers for the opportunity to involve students in solving relevant tasks of modern industry.
