On August 31, Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics (NURE) opened its doors to a new generation of higher education students. The festive day began with a large-scale university-wide celebration, joined by Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov, who offered sincere words of support and inspiration to the youth.

The staff of the Department of Design Automation of Computing Equipment at NURE deeply regret to announce that on August 30, 2026, in his 74th year of life, following a severe illness, an outstanding scientist, longtime Dean of the Faculty of Computer Engineering and Control at NURE, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Volodymyr Ivanovych Khakhanov passed away.

On 30 August 2026, at the age of 73, Volodymyr Hahanov passed away – Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor of the Design Automation Department, renowned scientist and educator, long-standing Dean of the Faculty of Computer Engineering and Control, IEEE Senior Member.

According to the NURE order dated July 17, 2026, Valentyn has successfully completed the “Computer Engineering” educational and scientific program in the specialty 123 “Computer Engineering”. Following the brilliant defense of his dissertation, and by the decision of the specialized academic council on June 30, 2026, he was officially awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy and the qualification of Doctor of Philosophy in Computer Engineering.

Teachers of the Design Automation Department continue to actively improve their professional skills by mastering modern digital tools and teaching methods in accordance with international standards.

Despite the difficult wartime conditions, NURE continues to prove its high level by entering the Top 10 best technical higher education institutions of Ukraine according to the 2026 Consolidated Ranking by Osvita.ua.

A two-day information dissemination event “Grant Opportunities of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine and Support Instruments within the Horizon Europe Programme” will take place in Odesa, hosted by the team of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine (NRFU).

On June 30, at the meeting of the specialized academic council DF 64.052.049, Valentyn Ruslanovych Korniienko, a postgraduate student of the Design Automation Department, defended his dissertation for the scientific degree of Doctor of Philosophy in specialty 123 Computer Engineering, field of study 12 Information Technologies.
