Future Through Innovation: NURE Open Day Highlights
On February 1, 2026, Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics (NURE) once again became a hub for ambitious youth. The Open Day brought together applicants eager to connect their lives with high technology and modern engineering.
This time, the Design Automation Department hosted a special hands-on experience for visitors. Leading specialists of the department — Associate Professor Inna Filippenko and PhD student Valentyn Korniienko — did more than just consult future students; they immersed them in the world of practical electronics.
The Magic of Light: From Theory to Your Own Device
The highlights of the event were the interactive workshops that allowed school students to feel like real development engineers:
- “What Light Is Made Of”: Participants learned about the physical nature of LED radiation and the principles of controlling modern semiconductor light sources.
- “Build It Yourself”: Under the guidance of the instructors, applicants personally assembled and configured a control stand for LEDs. This experience demonstrated that designing complex systems starts with understanding the basic elements.
Contribution to Global Goals and Future Careers
The activities of the Design Automation Department align closely with global development priorities:
- Decent Work and Economic Growth (SDG 8): By helping applicants make an informed choice to become design engineers, the department lays the foundation for their future successful employment in the global IT market.
- Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure (SDG 9): Training specialists capable of creating cutting-edge computing systems is critical for building Ukraine’s sustainable innovative infrastructure.
Inna Filippenko and Valentyn Korniienko provided detailed answers regarding the 2026 admission campaign, curriculum specifics, and career opportunities at leading technology companies.
This meeting proved that education is not just dry theory, but an exciting journey from the first LED to designing systems that will change the world. We look forward to seeing talented freshmen within the walls of the “First Among the Best!”
